Joe Rogan Challenges Drake Over His UFC Betting Misfortunes

Recently, Joe Rogan has taken a moment to address rapper Drake regarding his infamous “cursed” bets on UFC matches. As the host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast since 2009, Rogan has welcomed a diverse array of guests, including renowned personalities from the combat sports arena such as Mike Tyson, Jon Jones, and Tyson Fury.

Rogan has expressed a keen interest in inviting Drake onto his podcast to explore the rapper’s consistently dismal betting record when it comes to UFC fights. During a recent episode featuring music producer Scott Storch, the two discussed their aspirations to collaborate with Drake. Storch remarked, “I’m really eager to work with Drake, but I’ve hit a wall. I know Drake appreciates my production, but for some reason, it hasn’t happened yet.”

However, Rogan’s primary goal for a potential podcast episode with Drake would be to investigate the rapper’s history of losing bets on UFC fights. He shared, “I want to get in touch with Drake and discuss his fight picks. That guy loses more money on fights than anyone I know. I really want to call him up.”

Drake’s growing reputation for jinxing the fighters he bets on has become so prevalent that many fans believe any athlete he supports is bound for defeat. This trend raises concerns among UFC competitors, especially since Drake tends to place his bets primarily within the realm of mixed martial arts.

One of Drake’s most notable setbacks came when he wagered on Jorge Masvidal to triumph over Colby Covington at UFC 272 in March 2022. Overall, Drake has reportedly lost a staggering $12.7 million (£9.97 million) across 23 UFC bets, with only nine wins to his credit. Despite these figures, Rogan’s producer did mention that Drake recently scored a significant victory by betting on Jon Jones to knock out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, netting him $954,000 (£749,234) in the process.

Nonetheless, Rogan remained unimpressed by Drake’s recent success, pointing out that Jon Jones was a substantial favorite with odds of 600/1. He quipped, “Wasn’t Jon Jones a 600/1 favorite? That’s what I would’ve said anyway. I mean, that’s an easy bet.”

The anticipated podcast conversation between Rogan and Drake is set to be both engaging and insightful, diving deep into the rapper’s betting habits and their effects on the UFC landscape.
