The family of Suchir Balaji, a 26-year-old whistleblower from OpenAI who sadly passed away just a month after his significant exposé was featured in the New York Times, is now raising questions about the official determination of his death. A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) from someone claiming to be Balaji’s mother, Poornima Ramarao, has brought attention to the findings of a private investigator that contradict the suicide ruling made by authorities. In her tweet, Ramarao stated, “We engaged a private investigator and had a second autopsy conducted to uncover the real cause of death. However, the results of the private autopsy did not align with the police’s conclusions.”

Ramarao also reported that Balaji’s apartment showed signs of a struggle, particularly in the bathroom, and there were bloodstains that raised concerns of foul play. She suggested that there may be an ongoing cover-up by the city of San Francisco regarding what she perceives as a “cold-blooded” murder.

After calling for an FBI investigation and tagging notable individuals such as Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and California Governor Gavin Newsom in her posts, Ramarao received a response from Musk, who expressed skepticism about the suicide narrative, which further fueled the family’s suspicions.

Since the tragic passing of her son, Ramarao has been actively sharing her story online and engaging with the media in her pursuit of answers. Despite her efforts, her story has not garnered significant attention in the United States.
